Welcome to FPIES and Allergies (fpiesandallergies.blog), run by Kelsey Whiddon (“I,” “me”). By using this site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

This is not medical advice

I am a parent, not a doctor, dietitian, or allergist. Everything here, including recipes, guides, reaction timelines, food lists, the Safe Foods Database, and downloadable resources, is shared for general information and support. It is not a diagnosis, treatment plan, or substitute for care from your child’s medical team.

  • Always talk with your child’s allergist or pediatrician before introducing a new food or changing a diet.
  • FPIES triggers are different for every child. A food that is safe for my daughter may not be safe for yours.
  • If your child has repetitive vomiting, becomes pale, limp, or unusually sleepy, or you think they are having a reaction, follow your emergency plan and call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Recipes and ingredients

I test recipes in my own kitchen, but I cannot control the ingredients, brands, or kitchens you use. Manufacturers change formulas and facilities without notice, so read every label every time and check for cross-contact warnings. Nutrition information is an estimate. Allergy-friendly swaps are suggestions, not guarantees. You are responsible for deciding what is safe for your family.

Community submissions and comments

When you post a comment or submit to the Safe Foods Database, you confirm the content is yours to share and is accurate to the best of your knowledge. You give me a free, non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, edit for clarity, and share it on this site and its social channels. Community submissions reflect one family’s experience and have not been medically verified.

Please be kind. I may remove anything that is spam, hateful, harassing, misleading about safety, promotional, or that shares someone else’s private information.

Using my content

The writing, photos, graphics, printables, and downloads on this site belong to me unless noted otherwise. You are welcome to print recipes and resources for your own family, share a link, or pin an image back to the original post. Please do not republish full recipes, posts, or photos, sell my printables, or use my content to train AI models without written permission. For permission, email info@fpiesandallergies.com.

Digital products and books

Guides and books such as The Starter Kit, The Parent’s Guide, and A Journal for The Allergy Parent may be sold through third-party platforms like Amazon. Purchases on those platforms follow their own terms, pricing, and refund policies. [IF YOU SELL DIRECTLY: Add your refund policy here.]

Ads, affiliates, and sponsored content

This site shows ads and may include affiliate links, which means I may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. I only recommend products I would use in my own allergy kitchen. Sponsored posts are always labeled. Showing an ad does not mean I endorse the product, so check allergen information yourself.

Links to other sites

I link to organizations, research, and products I find helpful. I do not control those sites and am not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

No guarantees

I work hard to keep information accurate and current, but medical guidance changes and mistakes happen. The site is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. If you spot an error, please email me so I can fix it.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, I am not liable for any injury, illness, allergic reaction, loss, or damage that comes from using this site, its recipes, or its resources. If I am found liable for anything, my total liability is limited to $100. Some states do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold me harmless from claims that arise from content you submit or from your violation of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Ventura County, California.

Changes

I may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the site means you accept the updated terms.

I’m Kelsey

An Allergy Mama on a Mission

As an allergy mama to an amazing daughter who has over 17 FPIES triggers, navigating allergies was something I never even imagined a year ago, and now I am able to cook anything from scratch and do whatever I can to keep my little girl safe.

When we first received our daughter’s FPIES diagnosis, I felt completely overwhelmed. The list of trigger foods seemed endless, grocery shopping became a two-hour ordeal of reading every single label, and I found myself crying in the kitchen more times than I care to admit. If you’re reading this, you might know exactly how that feels.

But here’s what I’ve learned: you are stronger than you think, and safe doesn’t mean boring.

Through countless hours of research, trial and error, and many sleepless nights worrying about reactions, I’ve discovered that cooking from scratch isn’t just possible – it’s empowering. I’ve learned to create versions of our family’s favorite meals that are not only safe for my daughter but delicious for our whole family.

This blog is my way of sharing that journey with you. Every recipe here has been tested in my own kitchen, approved by my little taste-tester, and created with the understanding that safety always comes first. You’ll find detailed allergen information, substitution suggestions, and the real-life tips that have made our FPIES journey manageable.

Whether you’re newly navigating this world like I was a year ago, or you’re a seasoned allergy parent looking for fresh meal ideas, I hope you’ll find recipes here that bring joy back to your kitchen and peace of mind to your table.

You’ve got this, mama. Let’s cook safely together.
