Print Recipe
Introducing new foods when your baby has FPIES or food allergies can feel overwhelming. Every ingredient matters, and even simple meals can bring a lot of uncertainty.
That’s why recipes like this are so helpful, because they’re minimal, gentle, and easy to control.
This simple pea pasta is a great option when you’re working on introducing new foods slowly and safely.
Course Main Course

Ingredients

  • 1 box Plain pasta (use a type your child has already tolerated, if possible) I use Barilla Pasta as there is generally no "may contain" items
  • 1 bag Frozen peas
  • 10 oz Water, breastmilk, or formula (for blending) 2 oz for blending, 8 oz for cooking

Instructions

  • Steam the peas: Cook frozen peas until they are soft and easy to mash.
  • Blend until smooth: Add peas to a blender with a small amount of water, breastmilk, or formula. Blend until you reach a smooth, puree-like consistency.
  • Prepare the pasta: Cook plain pasta until very soft. Smaller shapes or broken pieces work best for younger babies.
  • Combine: Mix the pea puree with the pasta until evenly coated.
  • Cool and serve: Let the mixture cool before serving.
